TS-930 W6NL and other mods
TS-930 before modification. The resistors and some of the wires show the effects of excess heat. The bearings in the stock fan are shot - it's very noisy even with lubrication - not to mention the broken white wire.

Sorry the photo is blurry. This is after I've completed the W6NL power mods. I also added the DB9 connector for computer control, to eliminate the pig-tail cable that comes with the PIEXX board. I also added a 7812 regulator, and installed a new 80mm computer type fan.

Rear view after assembly. The 7812 was added to make 12V available to the RCA jacks for accessory power. There's no point in additional wall warts to power the keyer, ETC, when I can simply get it from the rig's power supply. The phone patch jacks were previously modified by N2NC to break the receive line similar to Icom. This allows one to easily switch in a receive-only antenna. I brought the PTT line from the DIN plug to what once was the IF output jack.
